Paul is President of the West Virginia Roundtable, joining the organization in 2004 after retiring from a 35-year career with Ernst & Young LLP. He credits his work experience with many of West Virginia’s senior business and political leaders with preparing him to serve the Roundtable with a background knowledge of many of the major issues facing our state’s business community.

Throughout his business career, Paul has been actively involved in several business and economic development organizations, including serving as a member of the Board of Directors of the West Virginia Chamber of Commerce as well as Treasurer, member of the Board and the Executive Committee of BIDCO (Business & Industrial Development Corporation of Kanawha Valley) and for MATRIC (Mid Atlantic Technology, Research & Innovation Center). Additionally, he is a Past Chairman of the Board of the West Virginia Roundtable. For many years, Paul led Ernst & Young’s annual “Entrepreneur Of The Year” program in West Virginia, which has brought statewide and national recognition to more than 200 West Virginia entrepreneurs over the last 12 years. He also chaired the Regional Airport Business Study Group, a group of 20 senior business and community leaders formed to study the business need for a new regional airport in southern West Virginia and currently co-chairs the West Virginia Business and Labor Leaders’ Coalition.

Paul is an active member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He has served as a member of its governing Council, and is currently a member of its Political Leadership Cabinet, representing West Virginia, Virginia and Delaware. He is Past-President of both the Charleston Certified Public Accountants and the West Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants. He remains active in the West Virginia Society, co-chairing its Economic Development Committee and serving on its Strategic Planning Cabinet.

Paul and his wife Donna reside in South Charleston, and have two grown children.
